TORRES CHIPS
Torres started as a family-run potato chip stand in 1969 in Premià de Mar, Spain. Manuel Torres and his wife, Ángeles Medel, were the founders, and their initial steps laid the foundation for the company's success.
From the outset, Torres focused on combining traditional methods with high-quality ingredients to create a superior product. This commitment to quality quickly earned them a loyal customer base. In 1985, due to increasing demand, Manuel and Ángeles' children, Manuel and Juan, decided to expand the business and moved production to Premià de Dalt while keeping the original stand open. By 1995, the growing popularity of their chips, attributed to their traditional, handcrafted process and quality, led them to move to larger facilities in Dosrius.
Torres' dedication to excellence has been recognized with awards, including the XXI International Food and Beverage trophy from Paris in 1998 and the XXVII International Trophy for Quality in 1999.
BJORNQORN
BjornQorn is a solar-powered popcorn company founded by Bjorn Quenemoen and Jamie O'Shea, who met at Bard College. Bjorn, the son of a Minnesota corn farmer, brought his family's popcorn recipe, while Jamie, an artist and inventor, contributed his expertise in solar technology. Together, they created a unique product using solar power to pop popcorn and season it with nutritional yeast, resulting in a vegan, gluten-free, and addictive snack.
